Sports Clinic Details

The Angel City Games is not just about athletes ready to compete today for the medal ceremony, but it’s also about helping prepare the adaptive athletes of tomorrow. Our sports clinics are geared toward new athletes who are exploring sports for the first time, or getting their first ever instruction from trained coaches. These low impact clinics are focused on creating a fun and inclusive learning experience for athletes of all ages and abilities.

To participate in one or more clinics at this year’s Angel City Games, please click the button below and follow the athlete registration to sign up for whichever clinics you’d like. Please take note of the time and day for each clinic. Make sure your clinic schedule doesn’t interfere with any of the competitions in which you might be participating.

Archery Clinic

Our archery clinic will feature instruction in proper use of equipment and shooting technique. It will be suitable for beginner archers to intermediate archers. It will be held at the Drake Stadium track infield.

Schedule: Thursday, June 22nd, 9am-11am.

Track and Field Clinic

Our Track and Field clinic will feature instruction across several track and field events, from track work to field events like discuss, javelin, high jump and long jump. Athletes can try different stations to learn different specialties. We will also be offering a mix of techniques for both ambulatory and non-ambulatory athletes. These clinics will be suited for any athlete who wants to participate, regardless of skill level or age. It will be held on the track and infield at Drake Stadium.

Schedule: Friday, June 23rd, 9am-4pm (includes a lunch break).

Wheelchair Basketball Clinic

Our Wheelchair Basketball clinic will feature instruction in a variety of basketball skills, from shooting to chair skills to defense to passing drills. The clinic will feature several stations and athletes will rotate across these stations for different instruction. These clinics will be suited for any wheelchair athlete who wants to participate, regardless of skill level. Sports chairs will be available for those needing them. It will be held on Collins Court in the John Wooden Center.

Schedule: Friday, June 23rd, 9am-11am.

Wheelchair Tennis Clinic

Our Wheelchair Tennis clinic will feature instruction in proper use of equipment and a variety of core, wheelchair tennis skills. The clinic will feature several stations and athletes will rotate across these stations for different instruction. These clinics will be suited for any wheelchair athlete who wants to participate, regardless of skill level. Sports chairs will be available for those needing them. It will be held on the UCLA courts at the LA Tennis Center.

Schedule: Friday, June 23rd, 2pm-4pm.

Swimming Clinic

Our Swimming clinic will feature both swim instruction and also water safety/acclimation. We will also be offering a variety of swim instruction for both ambulatory and non-ambulatory athletes. These clinics will be suited for any athlete who wants to participate, regardless of skill level or age. It will be held at the North Pool, near the entrance to the parking lot.

Schedule: Saturday, June 24th, 2pm-4pm.
